Why Tweety AI is Perfect for Automating Blog Post Announcements

Now that I have the blog post, the first thing I want to do is add an tweety ai step that’s going to automatically summarize that blog post into a tweet. to do that with a custom prompt step, and I’m going to say: “Please read the blog post at this URL,” and I can reference the URL of the blog post from the RSS item in the trigger. “Write a tweet summarizing the blog post and inviting people to read the full post to learn more.” You’ll probably want to iterate on this prompt over time, but this should actually get you pretty far.

Craft Engaging Tweets from Your Blog Content

I don’t need to pass it any additional data as context, but I do need to allow this AI step to access the web because it needs to load that URL of the blog post, and that’s it for my AI step. I now need to define the output, which in this case is just the text of the tweet.

Enhancing Twitter Posts with Tweety AI: Adding Images to Boost Engagement

Now, to use it, I’m going to create a post tweet step and just paste in the AI output of the previous step, which is the tweet. This is the barebones basic workflow: new blog post triggered, AI step to create a tweet summary, and then the tweet itself. But we know tweets do way better if they have images in them.

Adding a Human Touch to AI Automation with Tweety AI’s Approval Workflow

So we have a field here that shows we can populate an image for the tweet. It’s actually not obvious how we’re going to get an image from that blog post and populate it into the tweet, but let me show you how you can use a couple of cool features of relay.app to do that.

The first thing I’m going to do is go back to my prompt, and I’ll say: “Also select the best image from the blog post and output the URL of that image.” So this is going to look through all the screenshots that are in the blog post, and it’ll pick the URL of the best one. I’m going to add to the output that I also want a URL, which is the image URL.

Maximize Your Blog’s Visibility

Now I can’t plug that image URL directly into the post tweet step because the post tweet step requires a file as input, but we have a handy utility in relay.app that lets you get a file from a URL. So in this case, I can plug in the image URL, and I can just call this image.png.

Then if I go into the post tweet step, I can set images to be that file that we pulled from the tweet. Okay, so now I’m not only going to get a summary of the tweet, I’m also going to get the best image from the blog post include in the tweet.

Automate Blog Post Summaries and Twitter Promotions

Then  one last thing I want to do because I’m not sure how this AI thing is going to work the first time. I might have to iterate on the prompt a little bit or test and debug it, so I’m going to add a human in the loop step, and that human in the loop step is going to be an approval step. Before the tweet gets posted, I just want to review it. I think eventually I’ll probably take this human in the loop step out, but I think it’s going to be pretty useful for the first few times I run this workflow.

Optimizing Your Content Distribution

I’m going to have this human loop step request my approval via a Slack DM, and I’m going to include in the message that gets sent to me all the context I need to make that approval. I’m going to say, “We’re about to post a tweet for a new blog post, please approve or edit,” and then we’re going to say the blog post URL is the URL from the RSS item, and the tweet summary is in the AI output—the tweet—and then the image is going to be from the file URL.

Blog and Social Media Management Effortless

Actually, I think I can embed the image in-line if I do this. I can put in the image, and I can access the image URL. This is going to be a little nicer for me because it’s going to show the image in-line in Slack when I’m doing the review.

So then this is going to send me a Slack message, asking me to approve that this tweet can go out with this image. If I click approve from within Slack, it’ll post it, and if I don’t want to approve it, I can come into relay.app and edit it.
